Code for Good Tech (C4GT)

C4GT is an ecosystem initiative that bridges the gap between Digital Public Goods and Tech-for-Good builder organizations and talent, particularly students and young professionals. The program creates structured pathways for meaningful development contributions to technology products built for social good.


How It Works 🛠️

  1. Join the Badal Platform: Sign up on C4GT Badal using GitHub and Discord, complete your profile, and start exploring projects to contribute to the Tech for Good ecosystem.✨
  2. Choose Your Project: Find a project that matches your skill level and interests from our Open community projects list on Badal Platform. 🔍
  3. Contribute & Collaborate: Dive into solving issues, submit pull requests, work with mentors to merge pull requests and create impact! 💻

Initiatives by C4GT

  • Dedicated Mentoring Program (DMP): The Dedicated Mentoring Program (DMP) is C4GT's flagship structured mentorship initiative that connects talented contributors with Tech-for-Good organizations to build production-ready solutions for real-world challenges under the guidance of experienced mentors from partner organizations and the C4GT mentor network. Over three months, contributors gain hands-on open-source experience while earning a stipend, and participating organizations benefit from dedicated contributor capacity, structured project support and monitoring, and 50% stipend co-funding from C4GT to accelerate the delivery of their product roadmaps.

  • C4GT Hubs: A multi-year talent development initiative that builds a sustainable pipeline from learning to employment - following a hub-and-spoke model with IIIT Hyderabad as the anchor hub and partner colleges as regional spokes.

Steps to Submit the Project

Step 1 : Install the C4GT GitHub App - Please install this GitHub App in your product repositories so that we can access your repositories and track the C4GT tickets to make it automatically discoverable for the contributors.

Step 2 (DMP): Format existing or create new issue tickets using the DMP 2026 issue template for all projects you want listed under DMP. Note: It is mandatory to use the DMP 2026 issue template. Additionally, Create a label named DMP 2026 and tag all relevant tickets with this label to make them automatically discoverable.

Step 3 (Community): Format existing or create new issue tickets using the Community issue template for all projects you want listed under the C4GT Community. Note: It is mandatory to use the Community issue template. Additionally, Create a label named C4GT Community and tag all relevant tickets with this label to make them automatically discoverable.
