Request for new release for ffmpeg8

I noticed you have all the patches for ffmpeg8. i was wondering if you were planning a release?

I've narrowed down the necessary patches to:

 - patches/0009-Replace-FFmpeg-version-macro-with-direct-API-call.patch
- patches/0010-Combine-pad-and-link.patch
- patches/0011-Remove-FilterFlags.patch
# - patches/0012-Remove-unused-swr-functions.patch
- patches/0013-Build-with-ffmpeg-8.patch

but its difficult to decide if the API has changed.

I've also noticed the idea v15.1.0 being floated

it would be good to have a "versioned" number so that we can release it at conda-forge "officially".

Some hardcoded flag enums need to be fixed if we want to support ffmpeg 7.1 and 8.0. Other than that, yeah, I plan to make a release 15.1.0 soon

Ok. Understood. If there is a huge change to the API that I introduced with those patches let me know.

It all seemed kinda minor refactors.

I'm seeing that 15.1 is still built with ffmpeg 7.1

I think all pip wheel releases are still using ffmpeg 7 because of an oversight
