Random Data Generator API

Random Generator is a simple tool for generating random data. It returns random data such as numbers, strings, and more.

Build StatusCode ClimateProd Ready

This is a Python API Wrapper for the Random Data Generator API

Installation

Using pip:

pip install apiverve-randomdatagenerator

Using pip3:

pip3 install apiverve-randomdatagenerator

Configuration

Before using the randomgenerator API client, you have to setup your account and obtain your API Key. You can get it by signing up at https://apiverve.com

Quick Start

Here's a simple example to get you started quickly:

fromapiverve_randomdatagenerator.apiClientimportRandomgeneratorAPIClient# Initialize the client with your APIVerve API keyapi=RandomgeneratorAPIClient("[YOUR_API_KEY]")
query= {
"type": "number",
"count": 1
}
try:
# Make the API callresult=api.execute(query)
# Print the resultprint(result)
exceptExceptionase:
print(f"Error: {e}")

Usage

The Random Data Generator API documentation is found here: https://docs.apiverve.com/ref/randomgenerator. You can find parameters, example responses, and status codes documented here.

Setup

# Import the client modulefromapiverve_randomdatagenerator.apiClientimportRandomgeneratorAPIClient# Initialize the client with your APIVerve API keyapi=RandomgeneratorAPIClient("[YOUR_API_KEY]")

Perform Request

Using the API client, you can perform requests to the API.

Define Query
query= {
"type": "number",
"count": 1
}
Simple Request
# Make a request to the APIresult=api.execute(query)
# Print the resultprint(result)
Example Response
{
"status": "ok",
"error": null,
"data": {
"type": "phone",
"count": 10,
"data": [
"(364) 770-8812",
"(827) 720-3964 x763",
"1-898-417-2358 x46110",
"365.480.9402",
"(969) 592-7408 x66689",
"459.782.6464 x8246",
"231.883.7848 x0025",
"858.762.1413 x820",
"(950) 934-0850 x85099",
"(440) 213-3300 x538"
]
}
}

Error Handling

The API client provides comprehensive error handling through the RandomgeneratorAPIClientError exception. Here are some examples:

Basic Error Handling

fromapiverve_randomdatagenerator.apiClientimportRandomgeneratorAPIClient, RandomgeneratorAPIClientErrorapi=RandomgeneratorAPIClient("[YOUR_API_KEY]")
query= {
"type": "number",
"count": 1
}
try:
result=api.execute(query)
print("Success!")
print(result)
exceptRandomgeneratorAPIClientErrorase:
print(f"API Error: {e.message}")
ife.status_code:
print(f"Status Code: {e.status_code}")
ife.response:
print(f"Response: {e.response}")

Handling Specific Error Types

fromapiverve_randomdatagenerator.apiClientimportRandomgeneratorAPIClient, RandomgeneratorAPIClientErrorapi=RandomgeneratorAPIClient("[YOUR_API_KEY]")
query= {
"type": "number",
"count": 1
}
try:
result=api.execute(query)
# Check for successful responseifresult.get('status') =='success':
print("Request successful!")
print(result.get('data'))
else:
print(f"API returned an error: {result.get('error')}")
exceptRandomgeneratorAPIClientErrorase:
# Handle API client errorsife.status_code==401:
print("Unauthorized: Invalid API key")
elife.status_code==429:
print("Rate limit exceeded")
elife.status_code>=500:
print("Server error - please try again later")
else:
print(f"API error: {e.message}")
exceptExceptionase:
# Handle unexpected errorsprint(f"Unexpected error: {str(e)}")

Using Context Manager (Recommended)

The client supports the context manager protocol for automatic resource cleanup:

fromapiverve_randomdatagenerator.apiClientimportRandomgeneratorAPIClient, RandomgeneratorAPIClientErrorquery= {
"type": "number",
"count": 1
}
# Using context manager ensures proper cleanupwithRandomgeneratorAPIClient("[YOUR_API_KEY]") asapi:
try:
result=api.execute(query)
print(result)
exceptRandomgeneratorAPIClientErrorase:
print(f"Error: {e.message}")
# Session is automatically closed here

Advanced Features

Debug Mode

Enable debug logging to see detailed request and response information:

fromapiverve_randomdatagenerator.apiClientimportRandomgeneratorAPIClient# Enable debug modeapi=RandomgeneratorAPIClient("[YOUR_API_KEY]", debug=True)
query= {
"type": "number",
"count": 1
}
# Debug information will be printed to consoleresult=api.execute(query)

Manual Session Management

If you need to manually manage the session lifecycle:

fromapiverve_randomdatagenerator.apiClientimportRandomgeneratorAPIClientapi=RandomgeneratorAPIClient("[YOUR_API_KEY]")
query= {
"type": "number",
"count": 1
}
try:
result=api.execute(query)
print(result)
finally:
# Manually close the session when doneapi.close()
