if you're anything like me, you're wandering around with a panicked expression of bewilderment: "whatever happened to summer?" But it's gone people, all gone. Instead, we have a long, long winter ahead of us with all that the new Academic Year brings. I love winter. Let's fill that dark, empty hole with the magic of magnetic stimulation!

To get the new academic year started, we have Dr Robert Hardwick to tell us about his lab's recent work and paper on automating the resting motor threshold protocol. Long story sort: finding the RMT should not take you longer than 3 minutes. If it does, you need to come to the meeting!

Their software uses Signal/Spike and CED data acquisition interfaces along with a MagStim stimulator - this is one of the most common TMS-EMG setups available. If you also use this setup, you can therefore benefit for free. And if you don't use this setup, then you need to talk to us so that TMSMultiLab can collaborate on extending the compatibility to other systems.

You may recall we ran a Hackathon last month. We had around 24 people attend over three days, an awesome KeyNote talk from Sara Hussain, and made some real progress on several topics. I'm sure we can do more of this - and better - in future, so put August in your calendar for next year. I don't have specific dates for you - just write 'TMSMultiLab Hackathon' across every day of August 2027. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
