Upgrade gnome-system-monitor to v 48.0

I don't know if this is the good place for this request.
Linux Mint 22.3 comes with gnome-system-monitor v 46.0
v 48.0 fix a bug where v 46.0 is eating memory until system crash.
How to make a v 48 upgrade ?

If there is an important bug like a big memory leak will be possible do an SRU (with backports of specific fix) for ubuntu 24.04 (mint 22.x is based on it).
From a fast look I didn't saw important memory leak on bugtracker.
Are you sure it's the system monitor that's have high RAM usage and not another process?

in latest message there is also the commit that need to be backported, but I doubt it will be done given the few users affected (the bug's heat level).
I changed the status from incomplete to confirmed so it doesn't close after a certain amount of time.

I saw on the gnome repository that the bug is fixed in v 48.
To be concerned by this bug, you have to let the monitor running for days, not everybody are doing this :)
Anyway a bug is fixed and the new version should be included with mint updates !

Since few people will encounter it, I don't think anyone will file an SRU about it. Perhaps there's a chance, if there are other relevant bugs, that someone could create an SRU and add that one too.
You can start by clicking "This bug affects 1 person. Does this bug affect you?" in the bug to increase the heat.
If you or someone has the knowledge and wants to invest time in preparing an SRU, you can do it but I fear that there is not much chance that it will be accepted, 24.04 is now the old LTS (with the release of 26.04), the bug should not actually affect many users, the patch is apparently small and with low risk of regressions (this is good) but I have not verified that there are no changes in conflict with the previous version.
