#2165 Writer-to-Screen Convergence
Objective
Create the scene-level working environment that answers How do all the pieces synchronize over time?
Product direction
Use the Human-approved reference model: screenplay/source preview, playback preview, cue inspector and a block-based timeline similar to an editing application.
Initial timeline lanes:
- Dialogue;
- Action;
- Shot;
- Audio.
Later lanes may expose Lighting / FX / Transition / Camera Motion when they carry real editable intent.
Contract
- Timeline cues reference real Scene/Beat/Shot/source identities; they are not free-floating UI blocks.
- Preserve the originating Block/Mini-Block and written source address in the context strip.
- Selecting a cue should reveal source/owner/timing/intent details and provide navigation back to the originating story material.
- Storyboard/Previs evidence is projected into the workspace rather than copied into a new canon store.
- Scene → Beat → Shot → Frame becomes understandable visually, without forcing one-to-one counts.
- Playback may use rough/previs/candidate media where available; missing media remains truthful.
Afterglow acceptance
A known Afterglow scene within a mapped Block can open with the correct source text and any real Dialogue/Action/Shot/Audio timing evidence while preserving Block/Mini-Block provenance.
Exit criteria
- One Scene Workspace surface synchronizes source, playback, inspector and timeline.
- Timeline objects have stable source/provenance refs.
- Moving/editing a cue creates a bounded creative change rather than mutating unrelated story state.
- The Human can navigate from timeline cue back to source writing and forward to Production intent.
- Afterglow fixture proves deterministic identity/order/timing relationships without fabricating absent cues.
