Brasília BitDevs
We hold monthly meetings where we discuss last month's main technical advances
from the Bitcoin ecosystem and adjacent fields.
Bitcoin Research

Bitcoin Development
We have members actively involved in a variety of Bitcoin Open Source projects, such as:
  • ASMap: generate maps of IP addresses and Autonomous Systems for use in Bitcoin Core.
  • bark: bitcoin second-layer protocol that enables fast, cheap, self-custodial transactions.
  • BitcoinDevKit: library for building cross-platform bitcoin wallets, without worrying about bitcoin internals.
  • BTCPayServer: self-hosted, open-source cryptocurrency payment processor.
  • Floresta: lightweight and embeddable Bitcoin client, built for sovereignty.
  • peer-observer: tooling to monitor for P2P anomalies and attacks using Bitcoin Core honey pot nodes.
  • rust-bitcoin: series of projects to implement various bitcoin protocols in Rust.

Professor Edil Medeiros held two courses on Bitcoin at Universidade de Brasilia:
Protocolo Bitcoin [2024/2]
Low-level course on the Bitcoin protocol, with emphasis on
transaction structure and Bitcoin Script.
