Summary

  • remove the remaining Firebase Messaging APNs callback from AppDelegate
  • make the local-only boundary reject iOS remote-notification registration hooks
  • commit the CocoaPods integration and lockfile required by sqlcipher_flutter_libs alongside Flutter Swift Package Manager plugins

Behavior and lifecycle

The app continues to use only local notifications and AlarmKit. APNs device-token registration no longer exists in the product delegate, so launching, resuming, or granting local notification permission cannot initialize a remote messaging path.

Persistence and migration

No application data, Drift schema, backup format, or migration changes. Podfile.lock pins SQLCipher 4.10.0 for reproducible iOS release builds.

Concurrency and idempotency

No runtime concurrency changes. Re-running flutter pub get, pod install, and the release build leaves the checked-in iOS integration stable.

Root cause

The offline-only refactor removed Firebase dependencies but left Messaging.messaging().apnsToken in AppDelegate. The first signed archive therefore failed Swift compilation. sqlcipher_flutter_libs also still requires CocoaPods while the remaining Flutter plugins use Swift Package Manager, so the generated mixed workspace integration must be retained.

Validation

  • flutter test: 551 passed
  • flutter analyze: no issues
  • dart run tool/check_local_only_boundary.dart: passed
  • regression test proves Messaging/APNs hooks fail the local-only gate
  • flutter build ipa --release --export-method app-store: passed
  • IPA: OnTime 1.1.0 (56), club.devkor.ontime.ios
  • exported IPA signed with Apple Distribution, get-task-allow=false, beta-reports-active=true
  • archive scan found no Firebase, Google Sign-In, AppAuth, or Messaging product artifacts

Out of scope

  • no version/build-number change
  • no App Store metadata or phased-release change
  • no production App Store release; this prepares and uploads the existing build to App Store Connect/TestFlight

The app continues to use only local notifications and AlarmKit. APNs device-token registration no longer exists in the product delegate, so launching, resuming, or granting local notification permission cannot initialize a remote messaging path.
Persistence and migration
No application data, Drift schema, backup format, or migration changes. Podfile.lock pins SQLCipher 4.10.0 for reproducible iOS release builds.
Concurrency and idempotency
No runtime concurrency changes. Re-running flutter pub get, pod install, and the release build leaves the checked-in iOS integration stable.
Root cause
The offline-only refactor removed Firebase dependencies but left Messaging.messaging().apnsToken in AppDelegate. The first signed archive therefore failed Swift compilation. sqlcipher_flutter_libs also still requires CocoaPods while the remaining Flutter plugins use Swift Package Manager, so the generated mixed workspace integration must be retained.
Validation
  • flutter test: 551 passed
  • flutter analyze: no issues
  • dart run tool/check_local_only_boundary.dart: passed
  • regression test proves Messaging/APNs hooks fail the local-only gate
  • flutter build ipa --release --export-method app-store: passed
  • IPA: OnTime 1.1.0 (56), club.devkor.ontime.ios
  • exported IPA signed with Apple Distribution, get-task-allow=false, beta-reports-active=true
  • archive scan found no Firebase, Google Sign-In, AppAuth, or Messaging product artifacts
Out of scope
  • no version/build-number change
  • no App Store metadata or phased-release change
  • no production App Store release; this prepares and uploads the existing build to App Store Connect/TestFlight
