Description of the problem
pygmt.config() can be used to change GMT default settings permanently or temporarily. However, this feature is not well documented. The only documentation is https://www.pygmt.org/latest/api/generated/pygmt.config.html.
We need to document this feature better and add some tutorials.
A working example adapted from the pygmt tests is available from #455 (comment), but it's not a good tutorial.
