No Version updates anymore?

Hey,
I know this isn't really a ‘problem’ per se, but I'd still like to ask, as there doesn't seem to be a DC server for this kind of thing.

The mod hasn't been updated in a long time. Will there be new versions of this mod, e.g. for 1.21.7 and above? Because I love this mod and I would be missing an essential QoL feature as soon as I update.

I really hope someone responds here and I would like to thank you again for this mod!

Somebody else was making a fork for it but for 1.21.6+, it's pretty much not usable. 1.21.5 seems to work fine, the same dude as before got it working on 1.21.5 it seems.

I was in an SMP and there was another hack for 1.21.5 by a different dude that you can just take the 1.21.4 jar and change the version in the jar's fabric.mod.json file from 21.4 to 21.5, but that is probably not the most ideal way to make it work...

IF, AND ONLY IF, you're willing to accept a potentially buggy, alpha version, you can grab it from the artifacts at the bottom of this build page here. https://github.com/tehbeard/quick-menu/actions/runs/16102478533 You want the regular jar inside, do not use the -sources one. You will also need a 1.21.7 version of owo-lib ( https://modrinth.com/mod/owo-lib )

The main issue, and reason I haven't raised a 1.21.7+ PR on the main repo; is that the UI library used by this mod (owo-lib) has bugs related to the scroll container, due to Mojang's reworking of GUI rendering in the 1.21.6+ code.

As it stands now, that bug hasn't been resolved. I don't have the experience with Fabric to refactor out this library and do the UI "in-house" or with another library.

In 1.21.7 it is only affecting the icon selection window. Search works and "helps" in that it cuts down the item list so the scroll problem doesn't occur.

In 1.21.6 It affected the action editor as well but either that's been fixed or it will only occur with very large action lists (untested).

Hi, thanks for the comment. I was aware of that issue and kind of why I passed it off as "unusable", the GUI issues seem unfortunate, but I might put up with it just for now.

I was also not aware of 1.21.7 only affecting icon selection, thank you for notifying me. I guess I'll have to give it a try, if it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I'm not sure, I took one look and figured the issue would be too much to not continue using.

The server I play on will be updated to 1.21.8 on Friday. I'm really going to miss the mod. Hopefully there will be an update or another mod, or someone will make a new version, or I don't know 😭

Unfortunately, the 1.21.7 version no longer works on 21.8 either. It's so frustrating.

@maybeToby90 1.21.8 and 1.21.7 are protocol compatible, 1.21.8 is just a client side fix for intel drivers. You can keep using a 1.21.7 client

I tested it, opened ingame the mod and get a crash :( I have no intel

Never mind, forget what I wrote, it works now, I just had to adjust the version number in the fabric file 😅

please excuse the question here, unfortunately I don't know how else and better to get in touch with you.

I seem to be too stupid for Github, I've been looking for the latest fork version of yours for about 30 minutes now, but I can't find a download button anywhere, am I that blind?
Could you maybe link it for me or explain how and where I can find it?

My apologies, I had thought github made the artifacts of the build available. Either they never have been and I didn't notice as I'm logged in, or it expired.

I've added the jar to my fork as a release.

There's no build of owo-lib for 1.21.11 at the moment, so I can't port it to the latest MC version yet.
I'll get the older versions added to the releases page after the holidays.
