LeetMode

A dead-simple VSCode extension for practicing LeetCode, or even just coding without hints to test your understanding of problems. Adds a button to the bottom status bar; click it to toggle autocomplete / IntelliSense off, click again to turn it back on.

When ON, LeetMode disables:

  • IntelliSense / quick suggestions
  • Word-based suggestions
  • Trigger-character & parameter hints
  • Inline "ghost text" suggestions (GitHub Copilot)
  • Tab completion and accept-on-Enter

Your previous settings are backed up and restored exactly when you turn it OFF.

Try it (no install)

  1. Open this folder in VSCode.
  2. Press F5 to launch an Extension Development Host window.
  3. Look at the bottom-left status bar for ⚡ LeetMode: OFF and click it.

Install it for real

Package and install the extension into your normal VSCode:

npm install -g @vscode/vsce
vsce package # produces leetmode-0.0.1.vsix
code --install-extension leetmode-0.0.1.vsix

Then reload VSCode. The ⚡ LeetMode button appears in the status bar.

Usage

  • Click the status bar button, or
  • Run LeetMode: Toggle autocomplete off/on from the Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P).
