I'm getting strange usage resets. Is this from OpenAI, or does this client reset the usage on its own?

Short answer: no, this CLI does not modify or reset usage on its own.

Codext only displays the usage data returned by OpenAI's backend. The TUI refreshes the rate-limit snapshot in the background, so the numbers can move while you watch — that is just a refresh of server-side state, not a client-side change.

The only thing in this client that can touch usage limits is the reset-credit flow in /usage: ChatGPT accounts can redeem the official "usage limit reset" credits granted by OpenAI. That path requires explicit user action (/usage → pick a reset → confirm "Yes, use reset"), and it simply calls OpenAI's own reset endpoint — the same action you would take on chatgpt.com. Nothing ever triggers it automatically.

So the resets you are seeing are OpenAI-side behavior: rolling usage windows expire on their own schedule, and OpenAI occasionally grants/revokes reset credits. That's just the usual vibe.
