styleclasses are not passed through

Title basically says it all. If I want to pass different wave effects or colors through, for a button for example. The styleclasses don't get rendered. Is this just not possible at the moment, or is there a workaround for this?

For the moment it's just not possible, we are studying how to implement a theming system that will work with materialize system.

I noticed sometimes styleClass is passed through and sometimes it's not. For example mp:input styleClass="validate" will pass through. But if I add multiline=true (textarea renedered) then the class is not passed through.

I think you just have to write for example to ButtonRenderer.java this:
btnClass += " " + button.getStyleClass() != null ? button.getStyleClass().toLowerCase() : "";
