We have observed divergence in some models when this feature is turned on by default. Since it is a very specific use case, making it opt-in is reasonable.

Seems reasonable to me.

FTR I find it suspect to use the layer number as the scaling factor (see #326 (comment)). I'd prefer if the modules took a separate qk_layer_scale kwarg that could be any float. That said, this is a fairly narrow use-case and now that it is opt-in it may not be necessary to expose a fully generalized implementation.

We have observed divergence in some models when this feature is turned on by default. Since it is a very specific use case, making it opt-in is reasonable.

Seems reasonable to me.

FTR I find it suspect to use the layer number as the scaling factor (see #326 (comment)). I'd prefer if the modules took a separate qk_layer_scale kwarg that could be any float. That said, this is a fairly narrow use-case and now that it is opt-in it may not be necessary to expose a fully generalized implementation.
