Code of Conduct

Our commitment

NegruzziHub is a club made up of students of Colegiul Național "Costache Negruzzi" Iași, with a shared interest in building things together. Some of us are just starting out, some of us have been coding for years : that gap should never be a reason for anyone to feel unwelcome.

This is the organization-wide default. It applies to every NegruzziHub repository unless a specific project defines its own, more specific version.

What we expect

  • Be patient with beginners. Everyone asking a question today will be answering someone else's question next year.
  • Give feedback on the work, not the person. "This function could be simpler" is useful. "This is bad code" isn't.
  • Assume good intent. Most misunderstandings online come from tone getting lost in text, not from actual malice.
  • Respect people's time. Most of us are also balancing school : don't expect an instant response.
  • Credit people's work. If you build on someone else's code or idea, say so.

What we don't tolerate

  • Harassment, insults, or personal attacks : in issues, pull requests, commit messages, or anywhere else connected to the club
  • Discriminatory language or behavior of any kind
  • Deliberately submitting broken or malicious code
  • Sharing someone else's private information without their permission
  • Taking credit for work that isn't yours

What we don't tolerate
  • Harassment, insults, or personal attacks : in issues, pull requests, commit messages, or anywhere else connected to the club
  • Discriminatory language or behavior of any kind
  • Deliberately submitting broken or malicious code
  • Sharing someone else's private information without their permission
  • Taking credit for work that isn't yours

If something happens
Reach out to current club leadership or a coordinating teacher at Colegiul Național "Costache Negruzzi" Iași. Reports are taken seriously and handled with discretion.
A final note
We're a small club, we mostly know each other, and how we treat one another here reflects on all of us : the club and the school both.
