We are a research group at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, based at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. We use mass spectrometry-based spatial proteomics to study inflammatory skin disease and skin cancer.

We apply and advance Deep Visual Proteomics (DVP) on patient tissue. The approach combines high-resolution imaging, laser microdissection, and sensitive mass spectrometry to measure the proteome and phosphoproteome of defined cell populations directly in their tissue context. This lets us study disease directly at the level of protein signaling .

Our work identified JAK/STAT signaling as the driver of toxic epidermal necrolysis and demonstrated the efficacy of JAK inhibition (Nature, 2024).
