The first completion after stack-up intermittently fails with an empty error (curl -sf discards the body/status) while every subsequent request through the same port-forward + key passes — seen in 2 of 3 v0.13.0-rc4 release-smoke runs, each time only on step [2]. Retries up to 3× and reports the HTTP status on failure so the next flake is diagnosable. Test-harness only; the assertion (completion must return choices) is unchanged.

The first chat completion after stack-up intermittently fails with
empty output (curl -f hides the response; observed across three
release-smoke runs while steps 3-7 through the same port-forward and
key always pass). Retry up to 3x and surface the HTTP status so a real
failure is diagnosable instead of an empty string.

The first completion after stack-up intermittently fails with an empty error (curl -sf discards the body/status) while every subsequent request through the same port-forward + key passes — seen in 2 of 3 v0.13.0-rc4 release-smoke runs, each time only on step [2]. Retries up to 3× and reports the HTTP status on failure so the next flake is diagnosable. Test-harness only; the assertion (completion must return choices) is unchanged.
