The branch being merged into vNext is based on main (https://github.com/OpenLiberty/ci.docker/tree/23.0.0.8-release)
This means the copy of latest/ to 23.0.0.8/ is missing any changes done to vNext in the latest/ directory. For example: #437 which updates the checkpoint.sh script in latest.
The release steps must be done against vNext I think.
