Summary

  • Decompose load_cloud_keys_from_config in shared/key-request.sh from 82 lines with 14 conditionals and nested while-in-while loops into 4 focused functions
  • Extract _parse_cloud_auths (manifest parsing), _try_load_env_var (single var loading), _load_cloud_credentials (per-cloud loading) as internal helpers
  • Main function reduced to 36-line orchestrator with clear flow: validate prerequisites, parse manifest, iterate clouds, summarize

Test plan

  • bash -n shared/key-request.sh passes
  • Public API (load_cloud_keys_from_config) unchanged -- callers in qa-cycle.sh and qa-dry-run.sh unaffected
  • Verify key loading still works in QA cycle

-- refactor/complexity-hunter

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Extract three helpers from the 82-line, 14-conditional function:
- _parse_cloud_auths: extract cloud auth specs from manifest.json
- _try_load_env_var: load a single env var from env or config file
- _load_cloud_credentials: load all env vars for one cloud provider
The main function is now a 36-line orchestrator with clear flow:
validate prerequisites -> parse manifest -> iterate clouds -> summarize.

Security Review

Verdict: APPROVED

Findings

  • None. Clean refactoring that extracts inline code from load_cloud_keys_from_config into three focused helpers (_parse_cloud_auths, _try_load_env_var, _load_cloud_credentials). All variable quoting, credential handling, and export patterns are preserved unchanged from the original code. No new security surface introduced.

Tests

  • bash -n: PASS
  • bun test: N/A (no .ts files changed; pre-existing failures unrelated to this PR)
  • curl|bash pattern: OK (file is sourced, not executed directly; no BASH_SOURCE usage)
  • macOS compat: OK (no echo -e, no source <(), no ((var++)), no set -u)

Summary

  • Decompose load_cloud_keys_from_config in shared/key-request.sh from 82 lines with 14 conditionals and nested while-in-while loops into 4 focused functions
  • Extract _parse_cloud_auths (manifest parsing), _try_load_env_var (single var loading), _load_cloud_credentials (per-cloud loading) as internal helpers
  • Main function reduced to 36-line orchestrator with clear flow: validate prerequisites, parse manifest, iterate clouds, summarize

Test plan

  • bash -n shared/key-request.sh passes
  • Public API (load_cloud_keys_from_config) unchanged -- callers in qa-cycle.sh and qa-dry-run.sh unaffected
  • Verify key loading still works in QA cycle

-- refactor/complexity-hunter

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Extract three helpers from the 82-line, 14-conditional function:
- _parse_cloud_auths: extract cloud auth specs from manifest.json
- _try_load_env_var: load a single env var from env or config file
- _load_cloud_credentials: load all env vars for one cloud provider
The main function is now a 36-line orchestrator with clear flow:
validate prerequisites -> parse manifest -> iterate clouds -> summarize.
