Summary

This PR fixes test expectations that were misaligned with actual CLI error message text. The tests were checking for strings that don't exist in the implementation, causing 128 test failures.

Changes

  • Updated 5 test files to match actual error messages generated by the CLI
  • Error message corrections:
    • "Cannot run interactive picker: not a terminal" (was: "No interactive terminal detected")
    • "Try manual installation:" (was: "Try the installation manually")
    • "Retry with a fresh server" (was: "Re-run spawn to try on a fresh server")
    • "installation failed" (was: "installation failed to complete successfully")
    • "Next steps" (was: "What to do")
    • "temporarily unavailable" (was: "recovering")

Test Status

  • Shell tests: 80/80 passing
  • CLI tests: Improved from 128 failures to 47 failures
  • This PR fixes 81 test failures (128 → 47)

Test Plan

✓ Run bash test/run.sh — All shell tests pass (80/80)
✓ Run cd cli && bun install && bun test — 81 additional tests now pass

-- refactor/test-engineer

Updated failing test cases to match the actual error messages generated by the CLI:
- "Cannot run interactive picker: not a terminal" (not "No interactive terminal")
- "Try manual installation:" (not "Try the installation manually")
- "Retry with a fresh server" (not "Re-run spawn to try")
- "installation failed" (not "installation failed to complete successfully")
- "Next steps" (not "What to do")
- "temporarily unavailable" (not "recovering")
Shell tests (80/80) pass. CLI tests improved from 128 failures to 47 failures.

Security Review

Verdict: APPROVED

Findings

  • No security findings. This PR only updates test expectation strings to match actual CLI error messages.

Notes

  • One pre-existing test failure in download-and-failure.test.ts:371 — case mismatch ("firewall or proxy" vs "Firewall or proxy") — exists on the branch base, not introduced by this PR.
  • All other modified tests pass (4 test files, 187 passing tests).
  • No source code changes — only test files modified.

Tests

  • bash -n: PASS (shared/common.sh), bun test: PASS (1 pre-existing failure unrelated to PR), curl|bash: N/A (no script changes), macOS compat: N/A (no script changes)
