Senior Android Engineer. 10+ years in Android, most of it now at the framework level — AOSP internals, Binder, JNI/NDK, modularising the platform across phone, Wear OS, and Android TV.
These days most of my work is architecture: module boundaries, release health, keeping a codebase workable as a team doubles. When something breaks below the SDK, I still go find it myself rather than file a ticket and wait.
Some of what that's looked like: built the VoIP SIP/RTP stack for enterprise calling. Modularised Android frameworks on AOSP so the same platform layer ships across several enterprise product lines instead of being rebuilt each time. Set Clean Architecture and MVVM as the standard on the teams I've worked with. Right now I'm also working on Gemini API integrations and on-device inference.
Writing AOSP for App Developers on Medium — a 28-part series on AOSP internals for people who normally stay above the SDK.
Experience
- Matellio — Senior Individual Contributor (2022–present): architecting modular AOSP frameworks for enterprise deployments, integrating the Gemini API and on-device ML into production apps, Wear OS and Android TV builds
- Matellio — Senior Software Engineer (2020–2022): VoIP/SIP/RTP stack for enterprise calling, JNI/NDK native integrations, AOSP-level framework customisation
- GTS Infosoft — Mobile Application Developer (2019–2020): full-cycle Android delivery, architecture through Play Store
- Square Bits — Senior Android Developer → Android Developer (2015–2019): introduced MVP/MVVM across the team, BLE and ExoPlayer integrations at scale
