Reston/README.md

Hi, I'm José 👋

Software developer building practical web products, backend systems, and useful experiments.

GitHub profile: @Reston

About me

My professional background is mainly in Python, Django, and web development with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.

I currently work in the financial sector, with a particular focus on wealth management.

I also have hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development, using tools such as OpenAI Codex and Claude Code to explore, implement, review, and improve software projects.

Outside of my main work, I enjoy learning through side projects and experimenting with technologies beyond my usual stack. Recently, I have been exploring Rust, Go, Godot, and new ways of building developer workflows around AI agents.

AI-assisted development

I use AI coding tools as part of practical software-development workflows, including:

  • Working with OpenAI Codex and Claude Code
  • Designing and refining effective prompts for coding agents
  • Creating reusable skills, instructions, and agent workflows
  • Building and integrating tools through the Model Context Protocol (MCP)
  • Providing coding agents with structured context, constraints, and repository guidance
  • Using agents for code exploration, implementation, refactoring, debugging, and review
  • Improving the reliability and maintainability of AI-assisted development processes

What I'm exploring

  • Learning Rust and Go through small projects and technical experiments
  • Building a personal video game with Godot
  • Creating reusable AI-agent skills and development workflows
  • Experimenting with MCP servers, tools, and integrations
  • Improving prompt design and context management for coding agents
  • Revisiting ideas around backend services, web interfaces, and developer tooling
  • Improving code quality, maintainability, and developer experience
  • Learning by building, shipping, and iterating
