Global system prompt override for custom mode

For my custom mode, I override the system prompt, using .roo/system-prompt-{mode}.

However, this override is local and I have to copy paste to every repository I have. Extremely painful.

I'm here to help out the maintainers and am going to see if I can implement support for global system prompt overrides for custom modes. This would allow you to define system prompts in your home directory that apply across all repositories, eliminating the need to copy them to each project. I'll explore the codebase and work on a solution!

I've successfully implemented support for global system prompt overrides! 🎉

The solution allows users to define system prompts in their home directory at ~/.roo/system-prompt-{mode} which will be used across all repositories, eliminating the need to copy these files to each project.

Key features:

• Global prompts are stored in ~/.roo/system-prompt-{mode}
• Local project prompts still take precedence when present
• Fully backward compatible - existing setups continue to work
• Comprehensive test coverage added

Hey @lcswillems, thank you for creating this proposal. Currently, we don't have this in our roadmap.

We would like to encourage users to help improve our current system prompt instead.
