Description

Instead of an open launch, implement a closed alpha testing phase to control quality and create hype. Alpha testers should feel special with exclusive perks.

Tasks

  • Create an invite/waitlist system for alpha access
  • Add exclusive 'Alpha Tester' badge to user profiles
  • Add a unique set of node colors available only to alpha testers
  • Add a profile customization section (node color picker, etc.)
  • Set up a feedback collection pipeline for alpha users

Why

  • Prevents the 'used it for a couple days then abandoned it' pattern seen with other apps
  • Creates social buzz and a sense of exclusivity
  • Allows the team to gather focused feedback before a wider launch
