Summary

  • replace the implementation-oriented non-plain state enumeration test
  • assert the observable structural-sharing behavior for explicit navigation state
  • verify an unchanged nested value keeps its reference while a changed sibling produces a new outer state object

Follow-up to #8110.

Test plan

  • pnpm nx run @tanstack/router-core:test:unit -- tests/build-location.test.ts
  • pnpm nx run @tanstack/router-core:test:types
  • pnpm nx run @tanstack/router-core:test:eslint

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Tests
    • Updated routing tests to verify structural sharing when location state is supplied.
    • Confirmed that top-level state is recreated while nested objects retain their existing references.

Summary

  • replace the implementation-oriented non-plain state enumeration test
  • assert the observable structural-sharing behavior for explicit navigation state
  • verify an unchanged nested value keeps its reference while a changed sibling produces a new outer state object

Follow-up to #8110.

Test plan

  • pnpm nx run @tanstack/router-core:test:unit -- tests/build-location.test.ts
  • pnpm nx run @tanstack/router-core:test:types
  • pnpm nx run @tanstack/router-core:test:eslint

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Tests
    • Updated routing tests to verify structural sharing when location state is supplied.
    • Confirmed that top-level state is recreated while nested objects retain their existing references.

Review Change Stack

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The build-location test now verifies that explicit state updates create a new top-level state object while preserving the existing nested user object reference.

Changes

Build-location state handling

Layer / File(s)Summary
Structural sharing test
packages/router-core/tests/build-location.test.ts
The test replaces proxy-based non-enumerable state coverage with assertions for top-level state replacement and nested user reference preservation.

Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple) | ~10 minutes

Merge Risk:🔵 Low · up to 12d39

The change improves coverage of structural sharing without altering runtime behavior, but using as any weakens type safety in the test and should be followed up with typed state values.

Possibly related PRs

  • TanStack/router#8110: Both PRs update buildLocation state-handling tests for structural sharing and explicit or omitted state.

Summary

  • replace the implementation-oriented non-plain state enumeration test
  • assert the observable structural-sharing behavior for explicit navigation state
  • verify an unchanged nested value keeps its reference while a changed sibling produces a new outer state object

Follow-up to #8110.

Test plan

  • pnpm nx run @tanstack/router-core:test:unit -- tests/build-location.test.ts
  • pnpm nx run @tanstack/router-core:test:types
  • pnpm nx run @tanstack/router-core:test:eslint

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Tests
    • Updated routing tests to verify structural sharing when location state is supplied.
    • Confirmed that top-level state is recreated while nested objects retain their existing references.

Review Change Stack

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The build-location test now verifies that explicit state updates create a new top-level state object while preserving the existing nested user object reference.

Changes

Build-location state handling

Layer / File(s)Summary
Structural sharing test
packages/router-core/tests/build-location.test.ts
The test replaces proxy-based non-enumerable state coverage with assertions for top-level state replacement and nested user reference preservation.

Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple) | ~10 minutes

Merge Risk:🔵 Low · up to 12d39

The change improves coverage of structural sharing without altering runtime behavior, but using as any weakens type safety in the test and should be followed up with typed state values.

Possibly related PRs

  • TanStack/router#8110: Both PRs update buildLocation state-handling tests for structural sharing and explicit or omitted state.

Summary

  • replace the implementation-oriented non-plain state enumeration test
  • assert the observable structural-sharing behavior for explicit navigation state
  • verify an unchanged nested value keeps its reference while a changed sibling produces a new outer state object

Follow-up to #8110.

Test plan

  • pnpm nx run @tanstack/router-core:test:unit -- tests/build-location.test.ts
  • pnpm nx run @tanstack/router-core:test:types
  • pnpm nx run @tanstack/router-core:test:eslint

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Tests
    • Updated routing tests to verify structural sharing when location state is supplied.
    • Confirmed that top-level state is recreated while nested objects retain their existing references.

Review Change Stack

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The build-location test now verifies that explicit state updates create a new top-level state object while preserving the existing nested user object reference.

Changes

Build-location state handling

Layer / File(s)Summary
Structural sharing test
packages/router-core/tests/build-location.test.ts
The test replaces proxy-based non-enumerable state coverage with assertions for top-level state replacement and nested user reference preservation.

Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple) | ~10 minutes

Merge Risk:🔵 Low · up to 12d39

The change improves coverage of structural sharing without altering runtime behavior, but using as any weakens type safety in the test and should be followed up with typed state values.

Possibly related PRs

  • TanStack/router#8110: Both PRs update buildLocation state-handling tests for structural sharing and explicit or omitted state.
