Summary

TEAM ownership: BETA.

Replaces the active Messages Local API SQLite persistence path with a Postgres-backed service using the existing GAMEFOUNDRY_DATABASE_URL connection client. The Local API route contract and Messages tool response shapes are preserved, while the active Messages node:sqlite, DatabaseSync, messages.sqlite, and GAMEFOUNDRY_MESSAGES_SQLITE_PATH runtime dependency path is removed.

No compatibility wrapper remains because active imports were migrated directly to messages-postgres-service.mjs and targeted checks found no remaining active references to the old Messages SQLite service.

Validation

Passed:

  • node --test --test-name-pattern "Messages Local API" tests/dev-runtime/DbSeedIntegrity.test.mjs
  • npx playwright test tests/playwright/tools/MessagesTool.spec.mjs --config=codex_playwright_system_chrome.config.cjs --project=playwright
  • git diff --check
  • targeted stale SQLite dependency checks for scoped active paths
  • targeted Postgres wiring checks for GAMEFOUNDRY_DATABASE_URL, createPostgresConnectionClient, and Postgres service references

Skipped:

  • Full samples smoke: out of scope for this Messages cutover.
  • Broad runtime suite: out of scope; validation stayed targeted to affected Messages and Local API surfaces.
