I took the liberty of renaming a couple variables in the process:
nmpfile->nmplog"nmpfile" makes me think ".nmp file"; this is less ambiguous
nmpfilelines->nmpfpfilelinesTo make it more clear that these are from nmpfpfile, and not the .nmp file
