Root cause: The CI pipeline installs pyficache from the python-3.6-to-3.10 branch of python-filecache, but that branch fails to build its wheel requirements (Getting requirements to build wheel did not run successfully). This caused the pipeline to abort before any tests ran.

Fix approach: Remove the redundant failing install step. The same pyficache package is already installed from the default branch on the very next step (pip install --local -e git+https://github.com/rocky/python-filecache.git#egg=pyficache), making the branch-specific install unnecessary.

Changes made:

  • Removed the failing pip install --local -e git+https://github.com/rocky/python-filecache.git@python-3.6-to-3.10#egg=pyficache step from .circleci/config.yml

Root cause: The CI pipeline installs pyficache from the python-3.6-to-3.10 branch of python-filecache, but that branch fails to build its wheel requirements (Getting requirements to build wheel did not run successfully). This caused the pipeline to abort before any tests ran.
Fix approach: Remove the redundant failing install step. The same pyficache package is already installed from the default branch on the very next step (pip install --local -e git+https://github.com/rocky/python-filecache.git#egg=pyficache), making the branch-specific install unnecessary.
Changes made:
  • Removed the failing pip install --local -e git+https://github.com/rocky/python-filecache.git@python-3.6-to-3.10#egg=pyficache step from .circleci/config.yml
