🤔 Background

Related #766

--parallel runs with unlimited concurrency by default, which oversubscribes cores on busy machines. This adds an opt-in auto cap without a benchmark-gated default change.

💡 Changes

  • Add --jobs auto / -j auto to cap parallel concurrency at the detected CPU core count.
  • Add bashunit::check_os::nproc, portable across Linux/macOS/BSD (nprocsysctlgetconf, fallback 4).
  • Default stays unlimited (--jobs 0); explicit -j N unchanged. Docs + help text updated.

🤔 Background

Related #766
