Webhook-disabled mode keeps getting reached for on clusters
without cert-manager (ystack PR 80 vendors the manifests minus
webhook.yaml and passes --enable-webhook=false), and it should
be the last resort, not the default posture: without admission,
invalid parameters, immutability violations, bad resolved names
and refused adoptions all surface as Ready=False conditions
instead of failing the apply.
deploy/kustomize/webhook-certgen/ removes the excuse: two
kube-webhook-certgen Jobs (the ingress-nginx pattern,
digest-pinned) mint the conventional
buckety-controller-webhook-tls Secret and patch the VWC
caBundle. Completed Jobs self-delete so converge loops re-run
them idempotently; startup ordering self-heals via the optional
TLS volume. deploy/kustomize/release-tls-selfsigned/ composes it
with the release base and sets the buckety namespace the webhook
convention already hardcodes, so it is applyable standalone.
Smoke-verified on a throwaway k3d: Jobs complete, Secret carries
tls.crt/tls.key, caBundle patched, and the webhook denies both
an unregistered backend and an unknown driver parameter at
apply time.
