Reviewed by hand per .github/dependabot.yml's policy that action majors get reviewed before merge. - SHA verified: dd06d9cba3e5552c54d9f8ea23572deb30010f7c is the actions/setup-java v6.0.0 tag commit. That verification is the point of the SHA pin (OpenSSF Scorecard Pinned-Dependencies). - Our usage is minimal: distribution: temurin, java-version: "17" (ci.yml:498). No cache, no jdkFile, no GPG signing. - v6 changes that could matter, and why they do not: the ESM migration is documented by the maintainers as not user-facing breaking (actions/setup-java#1090); jdkFile was renamed to jdk-file with a deprecated alias; the rest are added distributions, Maven/Gradle cache split, and new outputs. None touch the two inputs used here. - CI re-run against current master after a rebase (behind_by: 0) and green on all five lanes. The first run's Go (linux/arm64) failure was TestResolveBinaryIdentityHelperDoesNotCountAsLaunch, a flake: it passed on re-run and master is green on the same commit range.

Description:
The README previously labeled V6 under "Breaking changes," but the ESM migration is purely an internal implementation detail. It enables support for the latest
@actions/*package versions without requiring any changes to user workflow configuration or altering the action's behavior. Existing builds continue to work exactly as before.This change renames the section to "What's new in V6" and adds a clarifying note so users don't mistakenly believe they need to update their workflows.
