At first glance it does seem to work okay when I force it to install -- this may be purely an incorrect test issue.

Ah yes, it absolutely is. Something changed internally - I saw this error happening some time ago after a Rakudo update. I need to write the tests to not rely on arrays being constructed in a particular order - I think that's what the problem was, if I'm remembering right.

This issue seems to still happen today. It looks like AlexDaniel's fork mostly fixes this, but with one test still trivially failing? I'm confused why this useful module seems neglected?

That's kind of you to say Colomon! I stopped using Perl6 (Raku) a few years ago after I wrote something large with it and the compiler running tests would take more than 10 minutes sometimes to even test my latest changes, and I eventually threw up my hands.

I loved this language. And it thrills me that someone likes this module - it was a joy to explore how wonderfully the language could handle things.

I suppose I should just back in a make sure the tests keep working. That's been always the thing about having modules, the tests suddenly stopping throwing up errors.

I think I will actually jump back into this a bit. Thank you for caring about it :)

if anyone is interested, I decided to take on this module and develop it further.

There didn't seem to be any activity from @adaptiveoptics 's side and I needed the module to work right now.

The changes aren't big so far: I made it work with a different dependency that wasn't made "before christmas", and I fixed a few problems that arised on the way. I started from AlexDaniel's fork.

Oh also, I published it on zef. You can find the latest version. So far I haven't bothered much with the credits - I don't act as if I owned the module... yet. If I don't see any attention to take the development back, sooner or later I will take over, while also giving credit to the original author, of course.
