The latest version for crc32c (1.1.2 from October 2021) is the one we are using:

This is a dependency required for Google cloud client, it is still used there:

crc32c does seem to be unmaintained though as it doesn't even have the GitHub issue tracker enabled. There is a PR to fix CMake 4 compatibility which we can follow to see if it gets any traction:

It seems that we don't need to use google/crc32c when Abseil is enough new. (It seems that we can move #include <crc32c/crc32c.h> to #else case.)

@kou do you mean patching google-cloud-cpp so we remove the need of crc32c and force use abseil?

I meand that we can upstream to google-cloud-cpp because google-cloud-cpp is well maintained. :-)
We'll be able to remove crc32 dependency soon.
