Summary

  • replace the separate chat-header mode pills, branch banner, and revision toolbar with one session context layer at the ChatView seam
  • preserve the existing AppShell-derived lineage, revision, memory, Deep Research, and autonomous-goal state and route their existing actions through Astryx Breadcrumbs, ButtonGroup, Token, StatusDot, OverflowList, and MoreMenu
  • collapse lower-priority metadata at narrow widths while keeping the active goal visible, and move the prototype coverage into the real Product/Chat Surface stories

This complements #1768's message-composition work without changing Composer or adding a parallel state path.

Verification

  • npm --workspace @maka/ui test — 261 tests passed
  • npm run build
  • npm run lint
  • npm run format:check
  • npm --workspace @maka/desktop run typecheck:stories
  • npm --workspace @maka/desktop run build-storybook
  • visually inspected Product/Chat Surface / Session Context Combined and Session Context Narrow at 960px and 360px, including the overflow menu's actionable Memory item and read-only interruption qualifier

Review focus

  • the context layer intentionally renders nothing when a session has no branch, revision, active mode, memory, or goal
  • ChatView owns composition only; AppShell and the existing derivation helpers remain the sources of truth

Summary
  • replace the separate chat-header mode pills, branch banner, and revision toolbar with one session context layer at the ChatView seam
  • preserve the existing AppShell-derived lineage, revision, memory, Deep Research, and autonomous-goal state and route their existing actions through Astryx Breadcrumbs, ButtonGroup, Token, StatusDot, OverflowList, and MoreMenu
  • collapse lower-priority metadata at narrow widths while keeping the active goal visible, and move the prototype coverage into the real Product/Chat Surface stories
This complements #1768's message-composition work without changing Composer or adding a parallel state path.

Review focus
  • the context layer intentionally renders nothing when a session has no branch, revision, active mode, memory, or goal
  • ChatView owns composition only; AppShell and the existing derivation helpers remain the sources of truth
