Summary

Full frontend architecture + Astryx coverage analysis after #2580 landed on main.

  • Architecture smells (AppShell concentration, dual chrome, workbar WM, settings multi-channel routing, tool-preview parallel DS, CSS dialects) with severities and file anchors.
  • Remaining Astryx gaps beyond raw-control blockers (elevation/wash P1, Toolbar/Kbd P2, control-chrome CSS P3).
  • Ranked P0–P3 backlog split into architecture vs design-system work.
  • Regenerated surface inventory baseline: 183 files, blocker 0.

Deliverable: docs/frontend-architecture-astryx-review-2026-08-09.md

Non-goals

No product implementation refactors in this PR (analysis only).

Test plan

  • node --test scripts/check-astryx-surface-inventory.test.mjs scripts/check-astryx-alignment.test.mjs
  • Spot-checked cited paths on disk
