Replicates #1090 for the preview branch.

The AWS::BedrockAgentCore::GatewayTarget resource now validates connectivity on CREATE, causing the test to fail with:

Failed to connect and fetch tools from the provided MCP target server. Error - Apache transport request failed

The test uses placeholder URLs (placeholder-staging.example.com) which are unreachable. Removing until a real MCP endpoint can be provided.

Looks good to merge. This is a clean replication of #1090 (already merged to main) onto the preview branch.

Verified:

  • Only deletes e2e-tests/http-gateway-targets.test.ts; no production code touched.
  • No other files in the preview branch reference this test (no broken imports or test runner config).
  • HTTP gateway coverage is preserved via e2e-tests/ab-test-target-based.test.ts, which exercises the actual user-facing flow (agentcore add ab-test --mode target-based).
  • Rationale matches the original: AWS::BedrockAgentCore::GatewayTarget now validates connectivity on CREATE, so placeholder URLs like placeholder-staging.example.com will reliably cause CFN CREATE_FAILED.

Replicates #1090 for the preview branch.
The AWS::BedrockAgentCore::GatewayTarget resource now validates connectivity on CREATE, causing the test to fail with:
Failed to connect and fetch tools from the provided MCP target server. Error - Apache transport request failed
The test uses placeholder URLs (placeholder-staging.example.com) which are unreachable. Removing until a real MCP endpoint can be provided.

Looks good to merge. This is a clean replication of #1090 (already merged to main) onto the preview branch.
Verified:
  • Only deletes e2e-tests/http-gateway-targets.test.ts; no production code touched.
  • No other files in the preview branch reference this test (no broken imports or test runner config).
  • HTTP gateway coverage is preserved via e2e-tests/ab-test-target-based.test.ts, which exercises the actual user-facing flow (agentcore add ab-test --mode target-based).
  • Rationale matches the original: AWS::BedrockAgentCore::GatewayTarget now validates connectivity on CREATE, so placeholder URLs like placeholder-staging.example.com will reliably cause CFN CREATE_FAILED.
