🐞 bug report

Description

A clear and concise description of the problem...

After updating from bazel 6.5.0 to bazel 8.3.1 and from WORKSPACE to bzlmod I started getting a bunch of warnings which look like the one below. Have I misconfigured my environment or rules_python is using some deprecated code? The relevant part of MODULE.bazel looks like:

bazel_dep(name = "rules_python", version = "1.5.1")
python = use_extension("@rules_python//python/extensions:python.bzl", "python")
python.toolchain(
is_default = True,
python_version = "3.10",
)
pip = use_extension("@rules_python//python/extensions:pip.bzl", "pip")
pip.parse(
hub_name = "pip-build",
python_version = "3.10",
requirements_lock = "//:build_support/python/requirements.txt.lock",
)
use_repo(pip, "pip-build")
