Reporting a vulnerability

Please report security issues privately to the repository owner rather than opening a public issue. Do not include Neynar API keys, archive contents, or signed media URLs in a report.

Security model

Farcaster Ark is a local, read-only backup tool. It sends the configured API key only to Neynar API hosts. Media requests do not contain the Neynar key. By default, media URLs and redirects that resolve to localhost or non-public network addresses are blocked. Stream capture restricts ffmpeg to the network protocols needed for HTTP(S) playlists and segments; local file protocols are not permitted.

Keep the API key file readable only by its owner (chmod 600). Archives may contain public account and wallet identifiers as well as copies of media; store them with the same care as any personal export.
