It looks like the same issue like in #6106 and should be fixed, however this issue still exists in Chart.js version 2.9.3

If I understand the problem correctly, the aggregation occurs by index instead of x.

It happens if you have many ticks. for example:

labels: [
    "2020-04-15",
    "2020-05-16",
 ],

However for this labels it works as expected:

labels: [
    "2020-04-30",
    "2020-05-16",
],

A dataset does not work with data that has duplicate X:

data: [
    {x: "2020-05-05", y: 1},
    {x: "2020-05-05", y: 1}
 ]

Nowhere is it indicated that X must be unique. It was expected that data aggregation would occur.
I mean, shouldn't it be merged to {x: "2020-05-05", y: 2} ?

Both "features" are related to Bar charts, that calculate the barThickness using minimum distance between points. So with equal x its going to be 0.

Yea... it’s a pity that then we lose the chart’s responsiveness. If I understand correctly, is this a temporary solution until these "features" are fixed in new versions?
