Summary

  • bunx clerk@canary skill install fails with No valid skills found because the bundled SKILL.md description contains raw HTTP: it handles. Strict YAML frontmatter parsers treat the unquoted : as a nested mapping and reject the document, so the upstream skills CLI drops the skill as invalid.
  • Rewrite the description as a YAML folded block scalar (>-) so the whole value is a plain scalar regardless of internal punctuation, including future prose containing an apostrophe.
  • Add a regression test that parses the staged SKILL.md frontmatter via the already-present yaml dep, so a future stray : fails locally instead of at install time.

Test plan

  • bun run test, bun run typecheck, bun run lint, bun run format:check
  • Manual: bunx skills@1.5.1 add <staged-dir> against the fix now completes with Done! (reproduced in a temp dir, both with the CLI's own staging flow and a minimal stand-in)
  • Re-verify once a canary publishes: bunx clerk@<canary> skill install in a fresh temp dir

The bundled SKILL.md description contained a colon-space (`raw HTTP: it handles`)
which made strict YAML frontmatter parsers treat it as a nested mapping and
reject the skill as invalid, so `skills add` reported `No valid skills found`
and `clerk skill install` aborted. Wrap the description in single quotes so it
parses as a plain scalar regardless of internal punctuation, and add a
regression test that parses the staged frontmatter with the `yaml` dep.

This PR adds a changeset marking clerk for a patch release and updates the clerk skill frontmatter so the bundled skills/clerk/SKILL.md frontmatter parses as strict YAML (the description is reformatted to a folded multiline block). It also adds a new test that reads the staged clerk/SKILL.md, extracts YAML frontmatter delimited by ---, parses it as strict YAML, and asserts name and description are non-empty strings.

which made strict YAML frontmatter parsers treat it as a nested mapping and
reject the skill as invalid, so `skills add` reported `No valid skills found`
and `clerk skill install` aborted.

Switch the SKILL.md description from a single-quoted scalar to a folded
block scalar (>-). Folded block scalars accept any characters in the
body, so future prose containing an apostrophe (e.g. "the user's app")
cannot silently reintroduce the parse failure this branch fixes. The
folded value is identical to the previous single-line string.

(reproduced in a temp dir, both with the CLI's own staging flow and a minimal stand-in)
  • Re-verify once a canary publishes: bunx clerk@<canary> skill install in a fresh temp dir

and `clerk skill install` aborted. Wrap the description in single quotes so it
