Summary

Adds two production machines that exercise the advanced library features, plus the full adoption guide.

  • signInMachine — top-level sign-in flow with fromPromise (async strategy load) and child machine composition
  • firstFactorMachine — first-factor verification with after (delayed transitions for resend timers) and guarded transitions
  • ADOPTION.md — migration guide covering the full spectrum: open/close → confirm → async invoke → wizard, with before/after comparisons for each pattern

Why these machines land together

signInMachine invokes firstFactorMachine as a child, so they're co-dependent. ADOPTION.md references both as the worked example of machine composition.

Stack

  1. feat/mosaic-machine-core — core library ✅
  2. feat/mosaic-machine-sections — section migrations ✅
  3. This PR — sign-in machines + adoption guide

Test plan

  • turbo test --filter @clerk/ui passes
  • Sign-in flow works through React StrictMode (no double-fire on async invocations)
  • Resend timer fires after the configured after delay

Stack

Adds signInMachine and firstFactorMachine as concrete examples of the
advanced machine patterns: async invocations via fromPromise, delayed
transitions via after, and composed machines (signIn drives firstFactor
as a child machine).
Also lands ADOPTION.md — the migration guide covering the full spectrum
from simple open/close flows through to full wizard and async invoke
patterns, with before/after comparisons for each.
- createActor: eslint --fix for 22 curly violations and import sort
- types.test-d.ts: disable unbound-method for setup() destructuring
(setup returns closures, not this-bound methods — false positive)
- test files: remove unnecessary async from functions that don't await,
convert async () => value to () => Promise.resolve(value), and
add type="button" to all bare <button> elements
