This hopefully doesn't make a difference ever, but when it does, deciding if the TOC is meeting and what it is going to talk about is a lot of power. I don't think we should give it to a single person or require a majority.

Sorry just seeing this now.. is there any precedent in any other community for a TOC chair? If so how are they elected there? Seems maybe a little unfortunate to have an inevitably single-vendor chair tbh, I wonder if the same goals couldn't be achieved in another way. |
Sure, TOC chairs exist in virtually every LF collaborative project (or "Foundation") that have a TOC or TAB. The pattern is that they are usually granted at least an observer seat on the boards. What's interesting here is that we are sort of blending the single project prototypes into a foundation's technical governance model. |
