markdown preview doesn't show separate lines

very minor issue. probably this should be a markdown list:

does not appear like it does on github:

appears like this:

Reopening — this was closed without review during a triage pass. The markdown preview (open.html) is still in use. This is likely standard Markdown behavior (single newlines don't create line breaks), but we should at least investigate whether adding a GFM line-break option would improve the experience. Apologies for the delayed response.
