@dawid-nowak, should the dataplane keep MCP 2025-11-25 clients stateless? Sessions are optional in that spec, so RMCP can return no Mcp-Session-Id and ignore any client-supplied one on POST, avoiding replica affinity; we will not support session GET, DELETE, or resumption.

For time being, we are going to keep the LocalSessionStore as it enables us to support both modern and legacy MCP flows in a stateless mode. By stateless, it is assumed that the MCP server implementation needs to be stateless. So for example the default MCP counter example might not work properly indeed.

For time being, we are going to keep the LocalSessionStore as it enables us to support both modern and legacy MCP flows in a stateless mode. By stateless, it is assumed that the MCP server implementation needs to be stateless. So for example the default MCP counter example might not work properly indeed.

@dawid-nowak, should the dataplane keep MCP 2025-11-25 clients stateless? Sessions are optional in that spec, so RMCP can return no Mcp-Session-Id and ignore any client-supplied one on POST, avoiding replica affinity; we will not support session GET, DELETE, or resumption.

For time being, we are going to keep the LocalSessionStore as it enables us to support both modern and legacy MCP flows in a stateless mode. By stateless, it is assumed that the MCP server implementation needs to be stateless. So for example the default MCP counter example might not work properly indeed.

weather you read the session id and store it in memory or not, there is no difference. why keep it? it still will accept calls we session-id just ignore it as tested
