🚀 Getting Started

Prerequisites

  • Node.js (v14 or higher)
  • MongoDB (local or Atlas)
  • npm or yarn

⚙️ Installation

  1. Clone the repository

    git clone https://github.com/deekshith-b48/ExpenseTracker.git
    cd ExpenseTracker
  2. Install dependencies

    npm install
  3. Set up environment variables

    • Create a .env file in the root directory
    • Add your MongoDB connection string:
      MONGODB_URI=your_mongodb_connection_string
      
  4. Seed the database

    npm run seed
  5. Start the development server

    npm run develop
  6. Access the application

🚀 Getting Started

Prerequisites

  • Node.js (v14 or higher)
  • MongoDB (local or Atlas)
  • npm or yarn

⚙️ Installation

  1. Clone the repository

    git clone https://github.com/deekshith-b48/ExpenseTracker.git
    cd ExpenseTracker
  2. Install dependencies

    npm install
  3. Set up environment variables

    • Create a .env file in the root directory
    • Add your MongoDB connection string:
      MONGODB_URI=your_mongodb_connection_string
      
  4. Seed the database

    npm run seed
  5. Start the development server

    npm run develop
  6. Access the application

Data Flow

  1. User Authentication:

    • User credentials → JWT token generation → Client storage → Protected routes
