Multi-select mode in tables #74

Description

@demonfiddler

Data tables should support a multi-select mode, to enable more selective bulk actions such as export.

  • When multi-select is supported and active for the table in question, the 'select' column header would display a tri-state check-box and the row cell would display a checkbox rather than a radio button.
  • The Select column header would provide a drop-down to switch between single- and multi-select mode.
  • Detail pages would display '-Multiple records selected-' and their components disabled in multi-select mode with more than one record selected.
  • Manually paginated tables would need special provision for retaining multi-selections from pages other than the currently displayed page, so that the page selection is transparently restored when navigating back to such pages. The selection state could be held as an array of IDs.
  • Query filter inputs to GraphQL and REST queries and mutations supporting arbitrary multiple selections would to be updated to hold an array of record IDs rather than a single record ID as at present, and the resulting SQL statements would need to use the IN operator rather than the equals operator.
  • The Record ID filter input would remain single-valued, just as the Status filter drop-down is single-valued but its corresponding query filter property is an array.
  • Table filter changes that trigger a re-query with different filter conditions should clear any existing selection.

                              Multi-select mode in tables #74

                              Description

                              @demonfiddler
