I'm not sure what it'll affect, but I'm 100% +1 to removing as many flags as possible and just accepting VirtualBox's defaults, especially when upstream has removed the flag. 😄 |

I've created a Virtualbox VM on 4.3.18 with this patch no problems, I am pretty sure it can be merged. |

+1 to merging this, same result after installing Virtualbox 5.0 on OSX. docker-machine 0.3.0 Tested HEAD with this patch, no longer getting the error. |

Kitematic v1.8.2 and docker machine 0.2.0 produce a fatal error and boxes cannot be created. VBoxManage: error: Unknown option: --synthcpu VirtualBox 5.0.4 provided by Kitematic |

This option is no longer supported in Virtualbox 5 and creates will fail as long as it is specified.
@SvenDowideit@tianon Do you know if this will affect the experience for users of older versions of VirtualBox (<5)? Given the nature of the flag (it is meant to help preserve transfer of saved-state VMs across platforms), I'm somewhat surprised that we have to turn it off by default anyway.
