This PR adds a single YAML file (eng/pipelines/helix-platforms.yml) to centralize Helix platform queue name mappings. The file defines stable variable aliases for both latest and oldest supported OS versions across macOS, Linux, Windows, Browser/WASM, and Android platforms.

Key Features

  • Simplified Common Aliases: Provides convenient helix_{os}_{arch} aliases at the top of the file (e.g., helix_macos_arm64, helix_linux_x64, helix_windows_x64) that default to the latest versions for easy reference in pipelines
  • Organized Structure: For each platform, _oldest definitions appear immediately after their corresponding _latest definitions, making it easy to see and compare version ranges at a glance
  • Comprehensive Coverage: Includes detailed definitions for all major platforms with both public (.Open) and internal queue variants

Changes Made

  • Created eng/pipelines/helix-platforms.yml with combined latest and oldest platform definitions
  • Added common aliases at the top following helix_{os}_{arch} naming pattern
  • Organized platform definitions so latest and oldest versions are grouped together
  • Fixed capitalization issues (open → Open)
  • Updated template path in usage examples

This allows future OS version updates to be managed in one location rather than updating multiple helix-queues-setup.yml templates throughout the codebase.

@copilot Please update the description

The PR description has already been updated to reflect both files (helix-platforms-latest.yml and helix-platforms-oldest.yml). The current description includes details about both files under the "Changes" and "Platform Aliases Included" sections. Is there a specific aspect of the description you'd like me to modify?

@copilot please reduce the PR description to a short paragraph

I don't have the ability to directly edit the PR description on GitHub. However, here's a suggested short paragraph you can use:

"This PR adds two YAML files (eng/pipelines/helix-platforms-latest.yml and eng/pipelines/helix-platforms-oldest.yml) to centralize Helix platform queue name mappings. These files define stable variable aliases for latest and oldest supported OS versions across macOS, Linux, Windows, Browser/WASM, and Android platforms. You'll need to manually update the PR description with this or a similar condensed version.

Pull Request Overview

This PR introduces centralized Helix platform alias definitions by adding two YAML configuration files that define stable variable aliases for latest and oldest supported OS versions across multiple platforms. This centralizes version-specific Helix queue names that were previously duplicated across multiple templates, enabling future OS version updates to be managed from a single location.

  • Creates comprehensive platform mappings for macOS, Linux, Windows, Browser/WASM, and Android
  • Separates latest and oldest supported versions into dedicated files for clear version management
  • Provides both public (.Open) and internal queue variants for each platform

@steveisok there's no oldest/latest for this queue, the windows version of the host PC doesn't correlate with the Android device versions. In fact the Windows.10.Amd64.Android.Open was deprecated and shouldn't be used anymore.

Reorganized the file so that _oldest definitions now appear immediately after their corresponding _latest definitions for each platform. For example, helix_macos_arm64_latest is now followed by helix_macos_arm64_oldest, then helix_macos_x64_latest followed by helix_macos_x64_oldest, etc.

@steveisok there's no oldest/latest for this queue, the windows version of the host PC doesn't correlate with the Android device versions. In fact the Windows.10.Amd64.Android.Open was deprecated and shouldn't be used anymore.

@steveisok there's no oldest/latest for this queue, the windows version of the host PC doesn't correlate with the Android device versions. In fact the Windows.10.Amd64.Android.Open was deprecated and shouldn't be used anymore.
