Problem and outcome

The Consensus v0.6 / Studio v0.123 candidate needs an explicit CLI network for the preview deployment. Reusing or retargeting stable studionet would bind users to the wrong chain identity.

This adds built-in studio-dev, sourced from the JS SDK's studioDevnet, while keeping studionet unchanged. It also makes the already-safe prerelease publish policy directly testable and standardizes the next candidate on npm dist-tag rc.

Implementation and validation

  • Add studio-dev to built-in network resolution and selection.
  • Pin the exact merged JS chore(deps): update dependency vite to v6 - autoclosed #217 commit, facd9e9dc9a289d0110fe3b5b1a14a2938fe6e01.
  • Verify chain ID 61997, canonical RPC, shared deployed consensus addresses, and stable Studionet non-drift.
  • Exclude both Studio environments from validator staking setup.
  • Resolve stable/prerelease npm channels in a directly tested helper.
  • Publish 0.40.0-rc.3 under npm dist-tag rc, never latest.
  • Keep studio-next browser-only; it is intentionally not another CLI network.

Validated locally on head 9ca9cf9:

  • clean npm ci from the merged JS SHA and production build
  • full suite: 76 files / 825 tests
  • focused preview-network and release-channel tests: 59/59
  • git diff --check

Planned prerelease after this PR merges: v0.40.0-rc.3 from v0.40-dev.

The Consensus v0.6 / Studio v0.123 candidate needs an explicit CLI network for the preview deployment. Reusing or retargeting stable studionet would bind users to the wrong chain identity.
This adds built-in studio-dev, sourced from the JS SDK's studioDevnet, while keeping studionet unchanged. It also makes the already-safe prerelease publish policy directly testable and standardizes the next candidate on npm dist-tag rc.
Implementation and validation
  • Add studio-dev to built-in network resolution and selection.
  • Pin the exact merged JS chore(deps): update dependency vite to v6 - autoclosed #217 commit, facd9e9dc9a289d0110fe3b5b1a14a2938fe6e01.
  • Verify chain ID 61997, canonical RPC, shared deployed consensus addresses, and stable Studionet non-drift.
  • Exclude both Studio environments from validator staking setup.
  • Resolve stable/prerelease npm channels in a directly tested helper.
  • Publish 0.40.0-rc.3 under npm dist-tag rc, never latest.
  • Keep studio-next browser-only; it is intentionally not another CLI network.
Validated locally on head 9ca9cf9:
  • clean npm ci from the merged JS SHA and production build
  • full suite: 76 files / 825 tests
  • focused preview-network and release-channel tests: 59/59
  • git diff --check
Planned prerelease after this PR merges: v0.40.0-rc.3 from v0.40-dev.
