Description

I am seeing the following runtime error when upgrading @sentry/ember from 6.0.2 to 6.0.3:

Uncaught Error: Assertion Failed: Missing configuration.

I am initializing Sentry via InitSentryForEmber() in app.js without any arguments--DSN and other config options are pulled from config/environment.js

This issue seems related to #3174 but I am using neither Embroider nor FastBoot.

Even if you pass arguments, it will fail the assertion in production and crash since it doesn't get to line 30.

6.1.0 should include a fix for that issue - https://github.com/getsentry/sentry-javascript/releases/tag/6.1.0
Could you test it out and confirm?

@kamilogorek unfortunately we went down the rabbit hole of wrapping the regular @sentry/browser package. My quick test to see if @sentry/ember was fixed on 6.1.0 showed it wasn't (but I didn't spend much time - I didn't even verify whether it was actually running the ember package, so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt!).

I have just tested with 6.1.0 and am still seeing this error.

I'm having a similar issue (I think it's related) with Ember v3.12 and @sentry/ember v6.1.0, but only when I'm passing the tests 🤔 .

My problem seems to be in this line. I get an undefined in app.options.configPath.

Edit: I've seen that there is currently an open PR with a solution to this problem.

Based on the PR I opened (#3240), if anyone wants to solve this in their apps (or test a fix) and you use yarn, you can add the following to your package.json:

This will tell Yarn to use my branch to provide @sentry/ember, which resolves the configuration-look-up problem. I'd love to get some feedback from other users to ensure that it works, but I tested it locally with @sentry/ember as a dependency of both an app and an addon and both seemed to work with the fix applied!

I tried out the 6.2.0 release that includes #3246 as a fix, and that got things working for me!

I can confirm. I upgraded to 6.2.0 and no longer am getting this error.
